Joshua Ledet was eliminated from American Idol Thursday, May 17, 2012.

I am not an avid American Idol viewer, but when they have someone talented on the show, I must watch that contestant to see how they fair.  I’m glad to see them progress through the weeks, but if they have an upset like Jennifer Hudson and are voted off prematurely, I’m uuuuupset!

Last night, the arguably most talented singer American Idol has ever hosted was voted off the show by viewers.  Joshua Ledet brought the greatest soul and flavor to the show than any other singer that has graced the stage. (more…)

Sean King dresses in black face to portray Martin Luther King, Jr. for "wax museum day" at his elementary school.

The history of the U.S. has racist residuals that haunt today’s society.  Black face is one of those racist practices that dates back to the turn of the 20th century when whites would put black make-up on their face to debase and negatively stereotype the image of African Americans.  But these facts may not be known to many young people today including their young parents.

Sean King is a second grader attending Meridian Ranch Elementary School in Colorado Springs that wanted to portray Martin Luther King, Jr., for his school project “wax museum day.”   (more…)

The only thing we consider when we think of the nation’s school drop-out rate is a failing education system.  But there’s a larger story in the lives of these students.  A lot of them have responsibilities that far exceed the importance of an education…their parents.

An epidemic happening throughout the U.S. has been silently claiming the educational lives of its students.  A lot of students go home every day and care for a parent. (more…)

The United States of America is a much more diverse nation than it was a century ago.  It is much more diverse than it was 50 years ago.  And now it just may be the most diverse nation on the planet with the release of the latest  U.S. population statistics.

The U.S. Census Bureau has made it official, whites for the first time ever, make up less than half of newborns in the U.S.  Minority newborns (more…)

Chuck D wants Jay-Z to "catch the throne" with his lyrics.

President Obama has everyone talking with his endorsement of same-sex marriage.  But emphasis has been given to what the African American community thinks about his decision.  Pastors in the black church are being increasingly vocal about withdrawing from the president because of his decision, but major black leaders and the hip-hop community are standing behind him.

Public Enemy lead man, Chuck D, is in agreement with Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Jay-Z on their backing of the president (more…)

Shaq and Charles Barkley's "Shirt-Off" results shows something is not on the up and up.

You must be warned that all that is seemingly weight loss doesn’t really mean fat loss.  There’s been a boom in celebrity weight loss competition and everyone isn’t being completely on the up and up.  Some have even resorted to airbrushed abs. (more…)

Images of Paul Rusconi and his adopted twin daughters got him arrested for rape.

The homophobia of planet earth has seeped into the crevices of human decency and killed some folks’ brain cells.  One man took a photo that some would call “suggestive” with his twin daughters and was immediately labeled a rapist and pervert.  But did his sexual preference weigh into the case against him?
